6 June 2025, 2:00-4:00pm EAT/Nairobi Time. Virtual via Zoom, in English and French
In celebration of World Environment Day and World Ocean Day, the Tide Turners Youth Webinar, organized by World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) Advocacy Champions in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), aims to spotlight the critical link between land-based plastic pollution and ocean health, while showcasing the power of youth-led action in restoring ecosystems.
Guided by the shared theme, “From Land to Sea – Restore the Earth, Protect the Ocean,” this initiative emphasizes the journey of plastic waste, from discarded items on land to pollution in marine environments, and calls on young people to lead transformative change. Through the Plastic Tide Turners Challenge Badge, youth are empowered to take action in their communities, raise awareness, and champion sustainable practices.
